Rewriting Your Academic Identity from the Inside Out

A short, reflective mini-course that helps you untangle your academic identity and consciously shape the next chapter you want to live into.

Imagine living the life you never thought was possible.

You’ve spent years learning how to succeed inside academia. Along the way, you also absorbed quiet messages about who you’re supposed to be, what’s realistic to want, and how much space you’re allowed to take up.

This mini-course is a pause button.

It helps you slow down and look at the internal story you’re living inside, not to judge it or blow it up, but to understand it. You’ll explore how your academic identity was shaped, what parts still serve you, and which beliefs may be keeping you stuck or tired.

Rather than telling you what your “next step” should be, this course helps you reconnect with your own sense of direction so any future choices come from clarity, not pressure or burnout.

This is inner work that creates steadiness before change.

You'll walk away with:

✓ A clearer understanding of the academic narratives you’ve internalized

✓ Language for naming what no longer fits

✓ Relief from feeling like something is “wrong” with you for wanting something different

✓ A grounded starting point for imagining a next chapter that feels honest and sustainable

Mindset and identity are the heart of everything we do

- let's start there.

We've been where you are.

Successful in academia, but wondering what else there could be.

We made the transition to consulting and built a thriving multi-six-figure consulting business doing work we love.

Getting here took many hard looks in the mirror - who were we, what stories did we tell ourselves, how were we limiting ourselves, what could we be if we just made some shifts?

Now we're here to help you do the same - gently.

Who this is for

This mini-course is for academics who feel a quiet pull toward change, but want to understand themselves more deeply before deciding what that change looks like.

You don’t need a plan.

You don’t need certainty.

You just need curiosity and a willingness to reflect.

What this is (and isn’t):

This is a reflective, guided mini-course focused on identity and internal shifts.

This is not a step-by-step program for starting a business or making a major decision.

(We do offer those too, when you are ready)

Think of it as creating space to hear yourself again.

MEET YOUR COACH

Hey, I'm Lauren

I loved my faculty position when I started, but toward the end of my 14 years in academia, I was burnt out, underpaid, and bitter. I loved working with students but higher ed and my institution weren't what they once were. I was proud of my academic career but knew I was ready for a new chapter. And this has been the BEST chapter yet!

Started Grantibly (our consulting business) part-time while I was a faculty member

Built the business to be sustainable

Increased my income immediately after leaving my tenured position and now have more than doubled my income doing work I love

Now I spend my days supporting clients who are doing exciting work that makes a difference - and our works helps them do MORE good in the world

MEET YOUR COACH

Hey, I'm Angelika

I loved my faculty position when I started it and I love it even more now that I am a consultant. I've always had an entrepreneurial spirit and Grantibly gave me an outlet to exercise that. Becoming a consultant made me a better professor. I am more efficient in my work and I have brought that entrepreneurial spirit into my classes - and my students love it!

We started Grantibly as a side business and I continue to operate it that way

I have learned how to avoid overwork, streamline my courses, and focus on what matters most - student learning and success

The mindset shifts I have made as a consultant have helped my students in their own lives through sharing my experiences and lessons

I love the work we do with our consulting clients - we help them do MORE good and I love that mission
